SweetWater Save the Black Warrior Beer Dinner July 8th
We are very proud to announce that on Sunday, July 8 at 5 p.m. we will be hosting SweetWater Brewing Company for a special beer dinner that will benefit the Black Warrior Riverkeeper and the Save the Black Warrior Campaign.
Each year, SweetWater raises funds and awareness throughout Birmingham and Tuscaloosa for the Black Warrior Riverkeeper, a citizen-based nonprofit organization whose mission is to protect and restore the Black Warrior River and its tributaries. The Black Warrior River is a major source for our drinking water but it sadly made the 2011 list of America’s Most Endangered Rivers. Through the sale of “Save the Black Warrior” t-shirts and paper fish (both available at the pub now) at local bars and restaurants, SweetWater is able to help raise awareness and funding for river protection. This year’s campaign runs throughout June and finishes up on July 8th with our beer dinner.
It has become an annual tradition to wrap the Save the Black Warrior Campaign with a beer dinner at the pub, and we could not be happier to be involved. This year’s dinner will be a lighter, four course, seafood themed dinner to hopefully counteract our lovely, Alabama summer heat. Each course will be carefully paired with one of SweetWater’s fantastic offerings (full menu below). The amazing beer and food will act as a foundation to an informative evening as representatives of the Black Warrior Riverkeeper and Sweetwater let us know what we all can do to help preserve a vital natural resource.
Cost of the dinner will be $55 per person (or $36 without beer) before tax and gratuity. This beer dinner will be by reservation only and you can arrange yours by calling 205.939.1312, emailing us at email@example.com, or by simply letting your server or bartender know the next time you are at the pub. We will donate proceeds from the dinner to directly benefit the Black Warrior Riverkeeper and aid in their mission.
We look forward to this event each and every year because it is, without fail, good times with good friends for a great cause. We hope you all join us on July 8th to “Give of Your Liver to Save the River”. See you then!
