Stillwater Artisanal Ales Tap Takeover November 28

26 November 2012 No Comment

We hope that you all can join us on Wednesday, November 28 at 7 p.m. when we host a tap takeover and meet & greet with Brian Strumke, brewer of Stillwater Artisanal Ales!

Stillwater Artisanal Ales started providing world class beer to the public back in 2010, but how it got its start may be perceived by some as unexpected.  Brian “Stillwater” Strumke fell in love with beer while he was touring the U.S. and Europe for his previous job as an internationally renowned techno DJ and producer.  During his travels, he was exposed to some of the greatest beer styles the world has to offer and his infatuation with the art of brewing grew rapidly.  When he returned to Baltimore in 2004, he decided to explore his new passion and he took up homebrewing.  Strumke quickly started getting the attention of folks in the homebrew community with his unconventional take on classic styles, and he finally decided he would pursue brewing professionally.  Instead of investing in a fully equipped brewing facility, Strumke travels to various breweries throughout the U.S. and Europe to hand craft his small-batch ales.  This formula has worked incredibly well and Stillwater Artisanal is making some of the more sought-after, American farmhouse-style ales on the market today.

As fans of Stillwater, we could not be more excited to host Brian Strumke for a meet and greet at the pub on Wednesday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.  During that time, Brian will be available to discuss with you the vision behind his brewing venture and his amazing beers.  With that said, what would be a meet and greet without a bunch of delicious (and in some cases hard to find) offerings from the brewer?  Well, we have you covered in that department as we will have the following 11 offerings from Stillwater available for you to explore and enjoy during this event:

  • As Follows,  An Eschatological Ale
  • Autumnal Amber Farmhouse Ale
  • Cellar Door American Farmhouse Ale
  • Debauched Brett Saison
  • Existent American Farmhouse Ale
  • Love & Regret Belgian Saison Ale
  • Kopstootje (or Little Head Butt)
  • Premium Post Prohibition-Style Ale
  • Stateside Saison
  • Table Beer Saison with Brett
  • Why Can’t IBU, A Hop Accentuated Ale

This event is simply come as you are and pay as you go.  The only thing we ask of you is to come to the pub expecting to drink some amazing beers with one of the more popular American brewers today.  It is sure to be an evening of good times and we hope to see you then!
