American Craft Beer Week: Sunday, Beer vs. Wine Brunch

Join us on Sunday, May 19th at 2 p.m. when we wrap up an amazing American Craft Beer Week by pitting Beer vs. Wine at a very special brunch featuring the beers of Terrapin Beer Company and the wines of Hop City Birmingham!

Each year, The J. Clyde has enjoyed being a part of the national celebration that is American Craft Beer Week (ACBW), and we are confident that this year will be the best yet.  ACBW will be recognized May 13-19, 2013 and offers an exciting opportunity for small and independent craft brewers and the community of better beer retailers to celebrate the ever advancing beer culture here in the U.S. Plus, tens of thousands of today’s beer beginners, beer enthusiasts, and hard core beer geeks make time to toast the week.  Make sure to keep an eye on our website and Facebook page for details on the events we have planned for each day of ACBW at the pub.

ACBW’s Sunday Beer vs. Wine Brunch will consist of a five course menu (available below) that will spotlight both beer and wine pairings selected by our guest experts.  To take up the cause of beer, we have Steve Hayes joining us with the brews of Terrapin Beer Company.  His challenger and wine champion will be Chris Reid from Hop City Birmingham.  Not only will these two educate attendees about the beverages they have chosen for each course, but they will also let us in on the finer points of pairing beer and wine with food.

Cost of the brunch is $55 per person before tax and gratuity.  Seating for this event is limited, so reservations are required.   You can arrange your reservations by calling 205.939.1312, emailing us at info@jclyde.com, or by simply letting your server or bartender know the next time you are at the pub.

A chilled cucumber soup garnished with crème fraîche and dill

Roasted Golden Beet Salad

Fresh spring mix tossed in honey balsamic vinaigrette with roasted beets, toasted walnuts, dried cranberries, and warm Stone Hollow goat cheese crouton

Fourth Course

Spinach and Roasted Tomato Strata

Chocolate Bread Pudding
