Left Hand Brewing Company’s Jackman’s Pale Ale is this week’s cask-conditioned ale.    This beer took home a Gold Medal from the annual Stockholm Beer & Whisky Festival in Stockholm, Sweden.  The gold medal, awarded in the Ale 4.8% to 5.9% alcohol by volume category, was the first for Left Hand at the festival, which became one of the most important events on the European beer circuit.

Draft Magazine describes this Colorado beer as an American-style Pale Ale “which pours with a golden-orange hue and a fluffy, playful white head.  The aroma bursts with dry-hopped characteristics and sticky, citrusy notes.  Jackman’s is smooth, with a sweetness on the tongue akin to a malted milkball.  The spiciness and grapefruit tones from the hops balance the beer well, soaking deep into the palate and lasting long into the aftertaste with a minor herbal quality found toward the back of the tongue.  Jackman’s is medium-bodied, finishes dry and has soft, velvety carbonation, and low alcohol presence.”
