Fairhope Brewing Charity Event Sunday, June 23

7 June 2013 No Comment

Join us on Sunday, June 23rd at noon when we team up with the folks from Fairhope Brewing Company to raise funds and awareness for Two by Two Animal Rescue!

Our good friends at Fairhope Brewing Company recently contacted us because they had some kegs left over from Magic City Brewfest.  Rather than lugging them back home to South Alabama, they voiced interest in doing something special with them here in Birmingham.  We put our heads together and decided to open up the pub on a Sunday to hold this charity event in support of Two by Two Animal Rescue.

Two by Two is a 501 C (3) not-for-profit, all volunteer, no-kill animal rescue that is really doing some amazing things in our area.  Through a network of private foster homes in and around Birmingham, animals are cared for regardless of age, breed, or medical cost until they find a forever home.  Although Two by Two receives no government funding, all animals in their program are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and microchipped.  Two by Two is a very passionate organization, and we could not be happier to help them in their mission.

For this event, we will be pouring Fairhope Brewing’s Everyday Ale and No. 51 Pale Ale (descriptions below) in both their regular draft versions and also on the Randall with special treatments for each.  Standard pours and flights of the Fairhope offerings will only be $4, and all proceeds will go to benefit Two by Two.  Since we are normally closed on Sundays, this event will start at noon and wrap up when these kegs kick.

Fairhope Brewing Company’s beers have not turned up in Birmingham very often since they opened, so we are incredibly excited to bring you a taste of what’s brewing on the Alabama coast.  We hope to see you all on Sunday, June 23rd to enjoy these fantastic beers and some lunch with us in support of the extremely worthy cause of Two by Two Animal Rescue!

Everyday Ale – Fairhope Everyday Ale is made to pair with those gorgeous Eastern Shore days along the bay. Handcrafted with British Maris Otter malt and Kent Golding hops, this well-balanced English-style golden ale packs a lot of flavor into a beer without a lot of alcohol. (3.8% ABV)

Fairhope No. 51 – Fairhope No. 51 is a classic American pale ale, brewed with a combination of American-made Falconer’s Flight hops and German hops. Named for being the 51st recipe entry into head brewer Dan’s beer notebook, this pale ale is packed with hop flavor but not overly bitter. Though this crisp, flavorful beer was 51 in Dan’s notebook, we expect it to be your top choice for a pale along the Eastern Shore. (5.8% ABV)
