Crafting the Revolution in 5 Points Pub Crawl with Oskar Blues on July 3rd

27 June 2012 No Comment

Are you looking for the perfect event to celebrate both Independence Day and the arrival of Oskar Blues Brewery in their home state of Alabama?  Well, it just so happens there will be a pub crawl with the brewers of Oskar Blues throughout Five Points South starting at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 3rd and you know The J . Clyde is involved!

This event is called Crafting the Revolution in Five Points South and it is a celebration of breweries with Alabama connections.  You may or may not know that the founder of Oskar Blues Brewery, Dale Katechis, is originally from Alabama, and he could not be more excited to finally get his beer distributed in his home state.  This event will give you the chance to pub crawl with brewers and representatives from the brewery as they visit the great establishments in the Five Points area.  Make sure to pick up a pub crawl card at any of the participating locations and answer the riddles that will be posted at each stop.  Turn in your card at the end of the night for a chance to win a prize pack from the participating venues valued at $100 ($20 gift certificates from each spot) and plenty of cool Oskar Blues swag.

The pub crawl locations and times will be the following:

  • Cosmo’s Pizza – 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Mellow Mushroom – 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • The J. Clyde – 8 p.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Dave’s Pub – 9 p.m. to 10 p.m.
  • 3000 Bar – 10 p.m. to 11 p.m.

We will start our party at 2 p.m. on July 3rd and feature the following specials all night long:

  • $4 Dale’s Pale Ale
  • $4 Mama’s Little Yella Pils
  • $5 Deviant Dale’s IPA
  • Our tasty Hog Hammers will be a special menu option served with Uncle Raymond’s BBQ Sauce or Dale’s Pale Ale Brown Sugar Teriyaki Sauce

These specials will continue on Wednesday, July 4th.  We have the perfect venue and view to enjoy the fireworks under Vulcan, so come in early to secure your spot and enjoy some amazing beer in the process.  The fireworks show runs between 9 and 9:30 p.m., but we will keep the party going at the pub all night.

You know you are more than welcome at the pub, so come down for one or both nights of this special event.  This is going to be non-stop good times for two days and we cannot wait to see you then!  If we don’t get the chance to see you, have a happy and safe Independence Day!
