We at The J. Clyde believe that great beer goes perfectly with any occasion, and that especially goes for Valentine’s Day.  On February 14th at 5 pm, we will be serving an indulgent three course menu (full menu below) that is sure to impress your sweetheart.
Each person attending the dinner will be able to choose one of two sensual beer options to pair with their meal.  We think Valentine’s should have an air of seduction and surprise, so those options will be kept secret until you sit down to your …

This week, Good People presents a Belgian IPA that should appeal to the hopheads and Belgafreaks.  The Belgian IPA is sort of a hybrid style that blends the malt and hops of a traditional IPA with a Belgian yeast that imparts a unique flavor to the ale.  The fourth ingredient – American water from Birmingham, Alabama!  We open early today at 12pm with a Father’s Day brunch (reservations only), but stop by early if you would like to try this unique beverage.  We’ll be open ’til 7pm for tornado relief.

The J. Clyde is thankful to have such wonderful and loyal customers!
The image below is a little reminder that Thanksgiving is a truly American (and Canadian) holiday as officially stated by New Hampshire way back in 1782.  Beer has been brewed in this country since the earliest days Europeans set foot on the continent.  One of the first things the settlers looked for upon arriving were sources of water so they could brew beer.  However, Europeans were not accustomed to such bountiful supplies of fresh water like we had in …

One of my favorite holidays, the 4th of July sort of breaks up the summer for me.  I abhor hot weather…and…summers in Alabama are abusively LONG and HOT!  So, tomorrow, Friday July the 3rd by 5pm we will be tapping a very special cask of Good People Brewing Company’s Brown Ale.
Jason conditioned this beer with Hibiscus Flower and Centennial Hops.  This version of Good People’s Brown Ale will be a totally different beer than what you are accustomed to – a bit drier, hoppier.  It will have more fruit and …

If your mom is a hophead, we have a small amount of Good People IPA left today at $3 per pint.  We ran out of the cask-conditioned IPA firkin early Saturday, but we still have some on draught.
Hot moms cook!  Cook for your mom today!
It’s interesting that as I looked around this morning for Mother’s Day ideas, I found very little about moms and beer.  Of course, there were MANY Father’s Day  connections.  There were even some folks apologizing to their wives and asking forgiveness in regards to their homebrewing …
