Book Signing: Birmingham Beer by Carla Jean Whitley, July 31
Join us on Friday, July 31st from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. when we welcome author Carla Jean Whitley to the pub for a special book signing event celebrating the recently released Birmingham Beer: A Heady History of Brewing in the Magic City!
Carla Jean Whitley is a Birmingham-based writer, editor and teacher who also possesses a fond appreciation for fine craft beer. Whitley is an active member of our craft beer community and has been a member of the women’s craft beer education group Hops for Honeys since 2010. Over the last year, Whitley has exhaustively researched our city’s brewing history to complete her new book Birmingham Beer: A Heady History of Brewing in the Magic City. From the birth of our city’s brewery scene in 1864 to the uprising of Free the Hops and our current craft beer renaissance, Whitley provides craft beer lovers with an interesting and educational look at all things beer in Birmingham.
All of us here at The J. Clyde are incredibly excited about the release of this great book, and we are honored to host Carla Jean Whitley for this special book signing. Beginning at 4 p.m. on Friday, Whitley will be hanging out with us to sign and sell copies of Birmingham Beer: A Heady History of Brewing in the Magic City. This is your chance to own a literal piece of Birmingham beer history, so come down to the pub on Friday to support and chat with a local author while enjoying one of our many local brews on draught! See you all then!
