We are tapping a cask of Monkeynaut IPA on a very special Wednesday this week as part of Straight to Ale night!
Straight from their website:
“The beer: Albert. Able. Gordo. Miss Baker. Bonny. Goliath. Between 1948 and 1961 these primate pioneers and others bravely went where no man had ever gone before, paving the way for manned U.S. spaceflight. This hoppy little monkey of a beer is a tribute to those Simian heroes of yesteryear. It has a citrusy, floral hop aroma, a strong malt body and a crisp finish. ”

HISTORY from Rogue.com
Behind great beer there is a brewer, and behind great beef there is a bull. Fukutsuru (Fuku to his friends) is that bull. Ranked the top marbling bull in the U.S., Fuku is a Japanese Wagyu bull whose offspring produce premium grade American Kobe Beef that is served with St. Rogue Red. Over 50,000 units of Fuku’s pride is in the freezer for future breeding. In his final days, Fuku was given the opportunity to “socialize” with some fine, young cows. Instead, he chose to take a nap. …

In advance of kegs of this very special brew arriving in Alabama, The J. Clyde received a cask conditioned version of this beer.  We will tap this wood-aged double IPA on Friday, 9 July by 5pm.  Get there early because it won’t last long.

“This copper-hued treat is a celebration of everything Great Divide does best. Plenty of malty sweetness provides a backdrop for earthy, floral English and American hops, while French and American oak round off the edges and provide a touch of vanilla. Thanks to everyone who’s supported us  …

The label is almost too BIG to post here!  One of the top 20 breweries in America presents one of its most famous and sought out beers cask-conditioned at The J. Clyde!  Plus, it’s a stout made for summer.  Seriously.  Just read what the brewers at Great Divide have to say about it.

“Welcome to the newest incarnation of our revered imperial stout. We toned down the hops a bit to allow cocoa nibs to contribute some pleasing bitterness, while vanilla notes from the oak combine with the cocoa to create …

Tapped by 5pm on Friday, 4th of June!
Yes, you read correctly!  One of my favorite styles of beer is on tap Alabama Beer Week Eve!  One of the top breweries in the world, Great Divide always makes great beer.  Always!
Belgica – The Roman name for the Low Countries – is a marriage of the best in American and Belgian brewing traditions. Belgian pilsner malt, a generous amount of American and European hops and a unique Belgian yeast strain combine to give Belgica big notes of citrus and spice, creating a …

This beer has won more medals than Michael Phelps!
“If One is Good, Then Two is Better!  Our Moylander Double IPA is fat and resiny, with aggressive and excessive hops swinging on an enormous malt backbone like naughty monkeys on a vine.  Double malt, double hops – do the math, it’s academic.  This brew has twice the things you’re looking for, and it’s big enough to share with the one you love.  And isn’t that what it’s all about?”
This special firkin is dry-hopped with California Organic Ivanhoe.  Add that to its standard …

For the “Mother of All Beer Weeks“, we’ll tap a cask on Thursday, 20 May - as part of a very special Terrapin showcase and another on Friday, 21 May with our local brewery – Good People Brewing Company!
As usual casks are tapped by 5pm.

~
Terrapin’s firkin is cask-conditioned Hopsecutioner aged with Woodford Reserve oak chips.  I haven’t tried this combination before, but I know folks who have.   “Totally awesome” is what I’ve been told.
~
Good People cooked up a “funky” Brown Ale innoculated with cultured Orval and Rodenbach yeast.  I have affectionately dubbed this beer …
