Anniversary Day 5 – April 10: Straight to Ale Goes Vintage

9 April 2015 No Comment

staneonThe weekend is here and our 8 Days for 8 Years Anniversary Celebration somehow keeps getting exponentially more awesome as the days go by.  Day 5 on Friday, April 10th continues this trend as we tap multiple vintage brews from our good friends at Straight to Ale!

Our taps have seen some truly amazing high gravity brews since the Gourmet Beer Bill passed in 2009, but the folks at Straight to Ale have been consistently wowing us with their skill when it comes to crafting big beers.  This is no easy feat because high ABV brews require a deft hand and plenty of brewing expertise to achieve the balance needed to keep the beer from being too one dimensional, cloyingly sweet, boozy, etc.  Along the way, Straight to Ale has also been experimenting with many of these high gravity brews in a fantastic barrel-aging program that has been getting the attention of craft beer fans nationwide.  We have been quietly tucking away kegs of these barrel-aged beauties the last couple of years, and we could not think of a better reason to tap a few of them than our 8th Anniversary Celebration.  For Friday’s event, we will be featuring flights of the following four barrel-aged brews from Straight to Ale for the ridiculously low price of $8:

  • 2013 Bourbon Barrel-aged Double Oatmeal Stout (insanely hard to find)
  • 2014 Bourbon Barrel-aged Laika Russian Imperial Stout
  • 2014 Cabernet Barrel-aged Laika Russian Imperial Stout
  • 2014 Rum Barrel-aged International Space Saison

As an added bonus, everyone who orders the above flight during the event will receive a free piece of Straight to Ale glassware to take home (while supplies last)!

While you are here to sip on these beautifully aged beers, make sure to stick around to order Friday’s 8th Anniversary menu special: Oysters Rockefeller.  What could possibly go better with beers that are “Southern Born. Southern Brewed.” than a Southern culinary classic?

We’ve got the beers.  We’ve got the oysters.  All we need now for Day 5 of our 8th Anniversary Celebration is you.  Make it happen and we will see you all on Friday!
