Terrapin Rye Pale Ale Firkin!

The rye in Terrapin’s Rye Pale Ale is really accentuated in the cask-conditioned version of this American-style pale ale.  It’s only 10% rye and I find it difficult to detect the rye sometimes – but not in the cask version as it’s featured front and center.  We’ve been fortunate to have this beer on one other occasion aged with oak chips.  This version is dry-hopped with Amarillo and utilizes four other hops:  Cascade, Magnum, Fuggles and East Kent Golding.

It’s quintuple hopped!  ;)

The firkin version of this beer is naturally carbonated; therefore the flavors are more subtle and offer an even better combination with our award winning Fried Green Tomatoes than draught or bottle.  Dry-hopping with Amarillo gives the beer a nice citrus aroma that allows the ale to pair quite well with the spicy breading and remoulade sauce used for the tomatoes.

Order a pint of this cask conditioned beer this weekend and get an order of Fried Green Tomatoes for only $3.

Cheers!
